To assist the Akwesasne Area Management Board in obtaining specific information in the development and/or implementation of effective Labour Markets Programs and Training Initiatives to the community of Akwesasne.

Program Description:
The purpose of the Delivery Assistance Program is to assist in and improve the delivery of Programs available to the community of Akwesasne on behalf of the AAMB. It is used to obtain expertise which the AAMB staff may not possess. As this is viewed as a service contract for specific activities, the Delivery Assistance Program does not require “training activities” be developed/implemented for the participants on the project.

Delivery Assistance uses may include;

  • The marketing and development of program applications;
  • The identification of potential program participants;
  • The monitoring of the progress of a particular group of participants.

Examples of Delivery Assistance activities can include:

  • To encourage the development of projects, under Project Based Training, Local Projects, where there is interest but no co-ordinator;
  • To provide expert advice in the development and assessment of applications;
  • To analyze characteristics and needs of local groups of clients; to identify alternate sources of training and availability of providers and explore new training approaches;
  • Feasibility Studies.
  • To develop training not available through a community college for use under Workplace Based Training.

Financial Limitations:

  • Administration Staff Wages (up to the prevailing wage rates)
  • Mandatory Employer Related Costs
  • Overhead Costs
  • Agreements including amendments may not exceed $150,000


  • Maximum duration of activities is 52 weeks


In addition to addressing the criteria set out above, Proposals should contain the following elements:

  • Background information on the applicant;
  • The objective of the proposal and location where the project will be delivered;
  • And financial information.

Background information includes a description of the organization, the number of years the organization has been in existence and the organization’s financial standing. It could also include a geographic and socio-economic description of the community indicating the relationship between the various local players and the applicant and a description of the kind of support and co-operation the community would provide.

Financial information includes the proposed monthly operating budget; the source, status and amounts of other funding required; an estimate of contribution requested for subsequent years; and a description of bookkeeping records to be maintained.
